That said, Chuck adds that managed IT services were the thread running through many of the breakout sessions.

“They were all standing room only, and we dove into everything from data security and what we’re offering clients on that front all the way to staffing challenges, as well as value-based pricing and how to increase revenues around that,” he says. “We also had a lot of information out there on sales and marketing, and the interaction in those was great.”

Many owners come to their TeamLogic IT franchise with little or no sales and marketing experience, he notes, and so these sessions, along with year-round webinars and training calls, are invaluable.

“We talked about not just basic cold-calling techniques, but also online efforts such as paid searches through Google,” Chuck says. “We also got into lead generation and the best practices around that. Many of our owners are very good at this, and so there was a lot of great back-and-forth between panelists and those in attendance. That kind of thing is so valuable for everyone, because we can always learn from each other.”

What’s new, what’s next awareness boosts business

Trending topics also got plenty of exposure at the Owners Summit. Those included a keynote speech from IT author Don Crawley, who spoke on the need to master both technical and people skills to succeed in today’s IT climate. Other topics included a granular look at managed security services, which are fast becoming a business driver alongside managed IT services.

“We deal with malware, ransomware, hacking and much more now,” Chuck says. “The threats can turn on a dime, and they are always evolving. We have to be ready, and we are putting everything into place so that we can offer the most robust products and services to our franchisees, and to their customers. We think we’re ahead of the game, and that’s why TeamLogic IT is going to continue growing its market share in existing territories, and expanding into new cities and states throughout 2017.”
