TeamLogic IT Announces 2018 Rookie of the Year

This year’s winners, Ken and Pam Blackwell of TeamLogic IT in Winchester, Virginia, were pleased to win — even if they didn’t see it coming.

“We had a good year, but I wasn’t sure because I wasn’t certain which other franchises were in the running,” says Ken Blackwell. “I knew that there were some others in our Pacesetters group that were doing well and had begun at around the same time, so it looked like a wide-open field.”

Participating in a new owner Pacesetters group is just one way Blackwell stays close to colleagues and mentors who support his TeamLogic IT franchise. He also relies on marketing materials that have helped build brand recognition. As that has grown in his territory, he’s begun to see referrals and other organic business development.

Building current verticals establishes foundation

Thanks to connections from previous business endeavors, Blackwell’s TeamLogic IT franchise has a solid footing in the healthcare industry and now is growing its presence in the dynamic Washington, D.C., area. That will continue into 2019 and beyond, alongside promoting managed IT services and other TeamLogic IT differentiators.

“We are focused on security solutions, as well as managed IT and other advisory services, and those have done well for us,” Blackwell says. “Our biggest challenge now will be to diversify into some other offerings so we can continue to attract new customers with unique needs. We also have to realize that there are only 24 hours in a day and pace ourselves accordingly, so that we are properly managing cash flow, hiring and other business essentials to maintain a strong outlook.”
