TeamLogic IT Announces 2018 Top Volume Award Winner

Strong growth and the resulting revenues showcase how a TeamLogic IT franchise can build upon success to grow from year to year

At the awards ceremony at the TeamLogic IT franchise owners’ annual summit, first-time winners are a very big deal. So, too, are repeat honorees such as Stewart and Nancy Paul, who own TeamLogic IT of Newtown, Pennsylvania.

At the 2018 event, the Pauls took home the Top Volume award for overall revenue, as well as a Volume Increase Percentage, or VIP, award. The Pauls are longtime TeamLogic IT owners who have grown a single territory into 10 (at last count) and are as enthusiastic about TeamLogic IT as they were when they came out of semi-retirement from other endeavors and launched their franchise.

Focus on marketing and sales to grow

“I thought we had a shot at the volume award, but I will confess to being a bit surprised about the VIP,” Stewart Paul says. “We won it last year, and I wasn’t sure we’d come in at that level again this year. It goes to show how important it is to focus on awareness efforts, such as marketing and sales, to drive the business forward.”

It’s also important, he adds, to “hire and keep the best staff you can, because increasing sales won’t result in increased retention if you can’t deliver the services. We have been very fortunate to get excellent technicians, and they support everything we are doing.”

Be open to, yet selective about, new business

The Pauls achieved rapid growth because they went after several major business verticals. Even so, they also realized that to maintain momentum, they’d need to start vetting potential lines of business to see if they were worth the effort.

“We moved away from restaurant and retail, for instance, because they tend to have evening and weekend hours that were problematic for us in terms of straining our staff,” Paul explained. “Now we are looking at the companies that need the services we are going to focus on, such as cybersecurity and the cloud, in 2019.”

But, he was quick to add, “If you’re new, target everyone you can get an appointment with — if they are willing to see you, then you should be willing to see them. Go after smaller organizations you can serve efficiently and professionally, and then build out from there.”
