TeamLogic IT Announces New Class Of Million Dollar Club Franchise Owners

Two of the newest members share the lessons learned over time as they worked to build their businesses and achieve this major milestone

When David Israel and Bob Roloff opened their individual TeamLogic IT tech franchise locations in 2015, with Israel in New York City, and Roloff in Fort Myers, Florida, each knew they were taking on a big challenge. They also knew they were ready to start their own businesses in the booming IT-services sector and work hard to grow that investment.

This year, both Israel and Roloff became two of the 2019 class of Million Dollar Club franchise owners, a designation based on reported annual revenue. They and their teams put in the time and effort to create success, and it’s been a great ride.teamlogic IT tech franchise

When did you open your TeamLogic IT franchise?

Israel: May 2015

Roloff: February 2015

What were you doing before?

Israel: I had a deep background in IT management and support in the financial industry, health care and retail, managing IT for East Orange Management LLC, a commercial/ residential building management company.

Roloff: I was the CFO/CIO for a civil engineering firm.

What drew you to TeamLogic IT?

Israel: It seemed that TeamLogic IT had the recipe for MSPs, including marketing support, sales support and processes. The time to market was less than building your own [startup] and the cost was reasonable.

Roloff: The opportunity to start my own business with a similar business model (i.e. professional services), and I also understood the financial and operational aspects of a professional-services firm.

What’s your territory like in terms of clients?

Israel: Here it is a real mix, from the financial industry to consulting and cleaning services, to media companies and law firms.

Roloff: Our territory is strong, with [all types of] businesses that need quality tech support. We have clients in many verticals with an emphasis on architects, engineers, designers and contractors.

What has surprised you about this business?

Israel: The need to always stay current on technology.

Roloff: Since I did not have a sales background, the amount of effort required to get qualified appointments was most surprising.

What traits or characteristics would you say a successful TeamLogic IT owner needs to have?

Israel: Other than management, have an understanding of the sales process, and also be able to talk to C-level and at the same time talk to employees.

Roloff: Persistence, organizational skills, interest in helping small businesses leverage technology to meet business objectives and protect them from cybersecurity threats, people skills and the ability to build trust, as well as business and financial acumen.

What would you tell someone who’s thinking about buying into this brand?

Israel: Research the given industry, make sure you understand what you are getting into. Be able to support this baby financially and mentally until it gets off the ground. It takes long hours and persistence.

Roloff: This is an interesting opportunity. I always describe this as a quasi-franchise as, unlike McDonalds, we (all the different TeamLogic IT locations) all deliver services differently. In the early stages you need to make good hiring choices for your technical team and stay laser-focused on sales and marketing. This can be a successful opportunity if you stay focused on the right things and hire the right people.
