TeamLogic IT Awards Rookie Of The Year Franchise Owner Honors
Telecommunications professional opts to get into a system where there are trusted and proven systems of support, and posts a stellar first year
Like many potential TeamLogic IT cybersecurity franchise owners, Tony and Cynthia Wheeler of Frisco, Texas, were nervous about the risk. One reason they began looking at an IT franchising opportunity like TeamLogic IT was to find both a business that interested them as well as one with strong support.
Their willingness to pursue their vision of small-business ownership has paid off, as they picked up Rookie of the Year honors at TeamLogic IT’s recent Owners’ Summit. Here’s the story of how they made it all happen:
When did you open your TeamLogic IT franchise?
We officially opened shop on March 1, 2018.
What were you doing before?
I worked for nearly 30 years in the telecommunications industry, including landline, mobile and then managed services for the past 15 years. I held positions ranging from engineer to project manager to sales and had the opportunity to live and work all across the United States, Germany and Sweden.
What drew you to TeamLogic IT?
The tipping point was having the larger TeamLogic IT name and support system behind me.
How was your onboarding?
The training on the sales and marketing side was pretty good, with scenarios to role play and then the opportunity to actually create a proposal to bring all the elements of the training and teaching together.
What’s your territory like in terms of clients?
In Frisco, Texas, we are growing like crazy but there is a LOT of competition around this area. With technology being one of the main industries in the area, there is no shortage of companies. So far we have taken to supporting the construction businesses, but have a diverse client portfolio.
How has support from corporate been?
Support has been available when requested. We have also found a lot of support from other owners, from technical assistance to advice.
What traits and characteristics would you say a successful TeamLogic IT owner needs to have?
Persistence and patience. The launch ramp is not a fast one, and customers sometimes do not commit as quickly as you always hope. You have to be available when they do finally come around to realizing they need your help.
What would you tell someone who’s sitting on the fence and thinking about buying into this brand?
Building a brand takes a lot of time and TeamLogic IT has already done that. With the TeamLogic IT brand, new owners can focus on the business and rest assured that the brand and the support will be there for them.
TeamLogic IT is the technology franchise smaller businesses increasingly rely on for turnkey support. TeamLogic IT’s managed IT services contracts give clients peace of mind about their technology needs, and provide franchise owners with a steady, predictable revenue stream. The company now serves a wide and growing variety of clients in every business sector, from tourism and hospitality to health care, legal and accounting. Along the way, TeamLogic IT has grown to nearly 200 locations throughout North America and continues to expand in both new and existing markets.
