IT-Ready Initiative Continues to Boost TeamLogic IT’s Brand Profile

Successful collaboration with CompTIA works to create a viable pipeline
of well-trained IT professionals in the current and future workforce

Earlier in 2018, TeamLogic IT announced its support for IT-Ready, a program created by CompTIA and designed to help narrow the IT-skills gap in the United States. Almost a year in, it’s clear that TeamLogic IT franchise owners have jumped on board in a big way.

“Our franchise owners understand the need now, and in the future, for well-trained IT workers,” says Chuck Lennon, Executive Vice President. “That’s why we as a company were very interested in what CompTIA was trying to build here, and it’s why our owners have embraced this opportunity to get behind meaningful workforce development.”

Supporting IT workers as well as IT systems

IT-Ready is administered by Creating IT Futures, the tech-workforce charity of CompTIA, a leading tech association. TeamLogic IT announced a goal of $100,000 in contributions during the next five years, making it the initiative’s leading donor. (The company is donating $50,000 over the five-year period and has set a goal for 100 franchise owners to donate at least $100 per year in a matching program.)

IT-Ready is an eight-week classroom-based tech training program for adults that provides the knowledge and skills needed for a successful IT career, and then connects participants to employers. Its stated goal is to train and place as many as 1,000 candidates from underrepresented groups every year. Thanks to the donations from TeamLogic IT franchise owners, as well as other gifts and grants, the classes are free.

Partnership helps TeamLogic IT’s own tech needs

These are jobs with competitive salaries and benefits, Lennon says, adding that closing the skills gap is a vital need not just for TeamLogic franchise owners’ own hiring needs, but also for the U.S. IT-tech workforce in general.

Managed IT services

“CompTIA research shows that eight in ten IT and business executives are at least somewhat concerned with the level of technical skills in their organizations,” Lennon said earlier this year. “We believe this IT skills gap can — and should — be filled in the short term by candidates from diverse ethnic and racial groups, low-income regions, returning veterans, the long-term unemployed, women, and individuals without college degrees. This ‘boot camp’ type of training program gets people ready for help-desk and related positions. TeamLogic IT cares about the industry we work in, and we’re very happy to play a role in growing the number of IT professionals whenever and wherever we can.”

TeamLogic IT is the technology franchise small and medium-sized businesses increasingly rely on for turnkey support. TeamLogic IT’s managed IT services contracts give clients peace of mind around their technology needs and provide franchise owners with a steady, predictable revenue stream. The company now serves a wide and growing variety of clients in every business sector, from tourism and hospitality to health care, legal and accounting.  Along the way, TeamLogic IT has grown to more than 145 locations throughout North America and continues to expand in new and existing markets.
