Murtuza left India almost 30 years ago, seizing an unexpected U.S. opportunity he couldn’t pass up, despite initial hesitations.
After earning a computer engineering diploma and degree, Murtuza began his career with an IT services company, then became an IBM business partner. His curiosity and strong work ethic fueled a 26-year journey there, covering roles in systems engineering, customer service, and product management.

Q: What aspect of the business do you most enjoy and why?
Murtuza: Clients. I love getting to know clients to understand what they do and how IT helps them enhance, complement, and grow their business.
Q: Do you have a particular industry or service that you specialize in?
Murtuza: We’re not concentrated in one area. My clients include car dealerships, manufacturing (furniture), retail (multiple stores), e-commerce, construction, engineering, financial services, legal, and healthcare.
Q: What area of the business would you like to grow?
Murtuza: Security and cloud services.
Q: What is a recent business accomplishment you’re especially proud of?
Murtuza: Acquisition of a local MSP. I have helped in many merger-and-acquisition deals with IBM but doing it on your own with limited resources was an interesting challenge.
Q: When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me…
Murtuza: Outdoors. But I’m also big in my community and my mosque. These days lots of time is spent on designing and building our new community center.
Q: What is the best advice you were ever given?
Murtuza: Get educated. My mom always pushed education. Everybody has to have some form of educational foundation. Teach people how to fish and not fish for them.
